Our Heritage

With July off to a sizzling start, the BBQ season is now in full swing. Make the most of the warm summers evenings and tuck into some delicious barbequed food. In July curly lettuce, cucumber and cherries are all in season so why not serve our delicious sausage kebabs (see recipe below) with a lovely crisp salad of curly lettuce and cucumber and crusty bread on the side.

This recipe is really easy:

1. Mix all ingredients for marinade together.

2. Put sausages, onion pepper & cheese in a bowl with the marinade, mixing them all together to coat all ingredients. Leave in the fridge for at least an hour.

3. Thread the ingredients onto skewers.

4. Put the kebabs onto the hot BBQ, turning frequently until the sausages are cooked through. Brush on remaining marinade as cooking.

With the weather finally hotting up it is all about eating ‘Al Fresco’ this month and enjoying the lovely warm evenings. In June broad beans, peas and strawberries are all in season so why not serve our delicious sausages barbecued with a fresh broad bean, pea and feta salad on the side (see recipe below) and finish your meal with a bowl of juicy strawberries.

This recipe is really easy:

1. Steam the broad beans until tender.
2. Blend together the herbs, vinegar, garlic, lemon juice and oil with a hand blender and season.
3. Pour over the warm beans and peas and when cool, crumble in the feta

Summer is just around the corner and with two bank holidays in May, now is the time to dust off your BBQ and get grilling! This month asparagus, cucumber, curly lettuce and spinach are all in season, so why not serve our delicious Simply Sausages with a side serving of asparagus roasted on the BBQ (see recipe below) or a lightly dressed fresh green salad made with cucumber and curly lettuce.

This recipe is really easy:

1. Wash the asparagus spears and creak off the woody ends
3. Arrange the spears in foil on the BBQ and drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar
3. Barbeque for 15 minutes, until the asparagus is cooked
4. Top with Parmesan shavings (use a fine grater or even a potato peeler)
